Las Presillas
Located in the heart of Rascafría, more specifically in Valle del Paular, Las Presillas is one of the most popular natural pools in the Madrid region, a 100% natural setting with pools built in stone which have crystal-clear water and the stunning Peñalara summit in the background. Clean, with large fields surrounding them and suitable for a solo trip or a visit with your family or partner, this is the ideal place for a day visit from Madrid. Best of all, entry is completely free!
Las Berceas
If after spending a pleasant day at Las Presillas you still want to discover more natural pools, we suggest you visit Las Berceas, a hidden paradise in the heart of Cercedilla surrounded by pine trees. Be warned: the water can be cold! But since the water is 100% natural, that’s a luxury you should embrace. Its 74 acres of space also offer all kinds of services and facilities such as picnic benches, dressing rooms, showers, toilets, a bar and an infirmary. In 2017, it will remain open until September 3rd, from 10.00 a.m. until 8.00 p.m. Children only pay 4€ to enter! What a great plan for your next weekend!
Riosequillo pools
If you want to enjoy a wonderful day of sun and water, go to Buitrago de Lozoya and visit the Riosequillo pools. Their facilities include a recreational area for the whole family, a children’s play area with swings, wooded areas, picnic areas, a restaurant, dressing rooms, public toilets and a large car park. On weekends, they open from 11.00 a.m. until 11.00 p.m. and we can guarantee that it’s one of the best places to go and unwind and forget about the world.
Las Dehesas
Rascafría, Cercedilla… but where can you enjoy a refreshing swim in the Guadarrama Mountains? In Las Dehesas, of course! This authentic gem with mountain views will make you want to dive in, breathe in the fresh air and relax. Inaugurated in 1978, its waters are not exactly warm but you’ll be grateful for it once the heat wave arrives. It offers public toilets, dressing rooms, a bar, an infirmary and priceless infinite views of the mountains.
San Juan Reservoir
Known as ˝Madrid’s Beach”, the waters of the San Juan Reservoir have been the summer setting for generations of many of Madrid’s inhabitants. It has 6 miles of beach, which means plenty of space to place your towel and parasol. However, this popular location is also ideal to practice all kinds of water activities such as kayaking, sailing or fishing. What more could you ask for just half an hour outside of Madrid?
