If you have decided to take a holiday in August in Madrid, we would like to suggest several open-air cinemas in the capital where you can enjoy a unique experience in a very unique setting.

Conde Duque summer cinema

An outdoor summer cinema that is one of the most popular in the whole of Madrid. The movie programme is perfect for moviegoers who love foreign movies or families just looking to have a great time. In August you can enjoy the SING-ALONG events and join in the songs as you watch movies such as Dirty Dancing (August 3) or Holy Camp (August 17). For the little ones there are movies such as The Lion King (August 6 and September 4). Subtitled movies include Shoplifters or The Favourite.

Cibeles Cinema

The Glass Gallery at the Cibeles Palace hosts one of the most anticipated movie programmes. The schedule includes both classic and cult movies as well as some of the most popular releases for the summer. We can see movies like Dumbo, Bohemian Rhapsody, A Star is Born or the classic The Sound of Music.

Fescinal 2019

The FESCINAL outdoor film festival celebrates its 35th anniversary this year with a selection of films for all audiences. The movies on show include classics like Stan and Ollie or West Side Story, newer movies like The Lion King, Dumbo or Aladdin, and subtitled movies such as Sunset or Au Bout des Doigts. Visitors can also enjoy a delicious dinner on the summer terrace that opens both before and after each movie.

Madrid Drive-in Movies

This is Europe’s largest drive-in movie theatre with 350 parking spaces. Enjoy a great afternoon with food and music. The movie schedule includes some of the latest releases such as The Lion King, Spiderman: Far From Home or Pets 2. Dining facilities include a diner in the purest American style and several food trucks.

On Saturdays and Sundays from 12 midday to 6pm, Rita’s Lunch is also available, a great leisure event to enjoy with friends or family including live music, a street market, street food and activities for the little ones.
