In Madrid, art exhibitions and events come out of nowhere and in great numbers during the month of November. Painting and film are the most common topics, but the spectrum is broad. If you don’t believe us, check out the different plans to enjoy Madrid in November that we recommend below.
Picasso and Toulouse-Lautrec at the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum
If a Picasso exhibition by itself is already a notable event, if you add one by Toulouse-Lautrec to it, it becomes something massive. Joining them together can produce a true revolution of art, which is why we recommend that you visit the Picasso & Toulouse-Lautrec exhibition which is open until January 21 at the aforementioned museum located on Paseo del Prado, 8.
Art lovers can enjoy popular works by Picasso such as The Frugal Repast (1904), Lying Female Nude (1965), Woman with Bangs (1902) and The Wait (1901), all of them part of the Málaga-born artist’s Parisian period. You can also enjoy works by Toulouse-Lautrec such as La Rousse in a White Blouse (1889).
General admission costs 12€ and concessions cost 8€. So there’s an excellent plan to enjoy in Madrid during your visit in November!
LesGaiCineMad
Film lovers have a chance to discover more about the LGBT film universe at IFEMA because, until the 12th of this month, Madrid is hosting LesGaiCineMad, the most important LGBT film event in Spain. Film screenings and choice of best films by attendants are just some of the features of this event. It is one of the best plans to enjoy in Madrid during November, and you can find the whole programme here.
Madrid Publishers and Bookstore Fair
From film we move to literature, because the First Madrid Publishers and Bookstore Fair will take place until November 5. The purpose of this fair is to promote the peculiarities of Madrid’s book publishers through some of the best bookstores in the city.
100 publishers and 60 bookstores will open their doors to the general public for an event that will include book signings by the authors and all kinds of literary activities for all tastes.
Some of these activities will be children’s workshops, public readings, book launches and meetings between editors and the international media.
Some of the writers that will be signing their works will be Alejandra Roma with her book Until the Wind Gives You Back Your Smile and Alejandro Fernández Barrajón, who will be signing all of his books. With so many activities to enjoy in Madrid during the month of November, which ones are you going to choose?
