Without leaving the area and going down towards Lavapiés, there are many bars or book cafés with the same spirit, such as La Infinito, on Calle Tres Peces, 22. A cosy and modern atmosphere where they serve different types of tea and serve brunch for 7€, not a bad option and ideal for a Saturday morning reading the day’s newspapers (which they also have there as well as many books at the clients’ disposal).
Just a few meters down the road is La Marabunta (Torrecilla del Leal, 32), somehwat more informal and home-like than the other two, but with the same type of activities and literary atmosphere. On Friday the 25th at 7.30pm, for example, there will be a recital by Jesús Urceloy and Sergio Artero, two of the most popular poets in Madrid’s poetry circle.
And we finish the tour around these coffee shops with the recently inaugurated Swinton & Grant, which is also an art gallery, a comic-book store and above all a place to relax and enjoy one self. It is located on Calle Miguel Servet, 21.
