The Thyssen Museum also has a cafeteria in the lower area, which is large, spacious and decorated with pleasant white tones that reminisce of the spirit of the Guggenheim Museum in New York by Frank Lloyd Wright. However, it also has a tempting restaurant. El Mirador del Thyssen, which opens only in summer and whose views over the Paseo del Prado (it is located on the fifth floor) are absolutely beautiful. Guests highlight the charm that you can sense in the place, the views, the excellent service and the quality of its products, although prices are quite high.
Lastly, the terrace-restaurant of the Reina Sofía Museum is, at least in summer, more attractive than the indoor cafe-restaurant, designed by Jean Nouvel. The former, being outdoors, with large and comfortable sofas, is better to enjoy an afternoon snack, a meal or a drink, and it opens daily.
Hotel Moderno –located on Calle Arenal in Madrid, with entrance from the very same Puerta del Sol– is located in one of the best areas of the Spanish capital to enjoy museums and culture. We are a hotel that is next to the great theatres and close to the main museums in Madrid.
